Today springers face imminent threat of extinction due to dams, habitat loss, poor fisheries management, and climate impacts. In feature length documentary THE LOST SALMON, filmmaker Shane Anderson sets out on a two year journey through Washington, Oregon, California and Idaho in search of the last wild runs to try to understand how the iconic species has shaped the ecosystems and cultures of the West -- and its hope for survival. Along the way he meets the scientists that have made a seminal genetic discovery that just may hold the promise of saving the Spring Chinook before it's lost forever.
